Mardi Gras Customs is a New Orleans based art studio offering Mardi Gras flowers, costume design, and art commissions. Founded in 2015 by Dana Beuhler, a carnival artist and enthusiast, MGC strives to make carnival style art available for décor and private collection. Dana’s Mardi Gras flowers are created with the same paper and wire techniques she learned years ago in the float dens of New Orleans, a technique she also brings into her costume designs.
The MGC studio strives to be as environmentally friendly as possible by being thoughtful about how materials are sourced. Our paper is sourced from companies in compliance with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Program and endorsed by the Forest Stewardship Council. Plastics and shipping materials are reused whenever possible, and water-based paints and low VOC adhesives are preferred.
Dana is dedicated to promoting the understanding and appreciation of New Orleans’ carnival arts through education and community outreach projects. You can check out the community projects page to see what fun projects she’s been a part of! To see the latest, you can also check out the MGC Instagram feed- It’s the first place you’ll find new designs and updates!
