Dana Beuhler is a Louisiana native who earned her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005. Shortly after, she returned to New Orleans and began working as a painter, sculptor, and multimedia artist in the Mardi Gras float-building industry. In 2009 she began her motion picture career in sculpture and scenic artistry. Her set construction portfolio includes everything from detailed murals to large scale sculptures for episodic television and major motion pictures. In 2015 she began creating custom carnival flowers out of her home studio, which eventually grew into a full time, year-round business, Mardi Gras Customs. In recent years, the MGC studio has expanded to include costume design, painting, and sculpture. These days, she keeps busy chasing 2 little kids around her home studio and juggling various creative pursuits.
